So what do you think? Were they out of line? Was the right course of action taken by the developers? Some are wondering if this is their way of trying to "punish" the developers for making it too "carebear friendly". The beta is going to be wiped and they appeared to know what they were doing was bad, since they lied when confronted about their strength. So this combined with it being beta may have been why it hadn't been fixed yet.Īnother point has been brought up on what was the purpose of these actions taken by the hackers. Others have come to the defense of the developers citing that the development team was only about 2-3 people (I'm being told it was more like 5-8, but can't confirm) until late ~2021 when gamingo stepped in and become their publisher, allowing them to expand their team. One of the offenders that has been banned has come forward saying that this exploit was reported to the developers in 2020, but was never fixed. While another side says that in a beta its good to find exploits, but don't keep using them to give yourself and avantage. With one side being since its a beta that will be wipped, utilzing exploits shouldn't matter. This has spurred on a discussion on what is acceptable in a beta. The developers investigated and it appears that they had been using this hack for so long and so many times that a permanent ban was issued to them. When in reality it wasn't any of those things, but rather a hack. And it was always "Oh I just have the right traits" or "Oh I just farmed out enchantments". They'd ask them in chat how they were doing it, etc. Many people were confused at this because they would 1v5 entire groups. In some cases just taking 0 damage for a long time. They were able to deal very large amounts of damage, to the point of almost one shotting in some cases. I have fought a few of these people using these exploits before the ban. Quite ironic given their position on the debate. And based on the discord chat, a good portion of them are gone. It wasn't the whole guild, but the guild was about 10-20 members I think. Even going so far as repeatedly saying the game will die, they hope it will die, the devs are a failure, typical toxic stuff. So I do not exagerate that as someone who has been playing this almost every day.this guild was in both discord and global chat complaining about this everyday for hours. While other alignments only lose their inventory + can't get arrested. Doing this means you can get arrested/thorwn in jail if you kill too many people + if you die you lose your equipped gear. This system essentially makes it so that to kill anyone you want, you have to play an evil alginment flag. That the game is going to be ruined because "PvE carebears" have too much of an advantage with the drop system/alignment system. This is also the guild that has been very vocal about wanting more free form PvP. The closest other city was level 6 I think). They had a whole plan before the beta started, they played for hours every day to get their city to a very high level (I think they got level 10 by the end of the 6th day since it opened. Primary because this guild that is mentioned in this post was known as the "sweaty" or "tryhard" guild. Now this has caused quite the stir in the smallish community already.
